About Our Armed Response Service
Tactical Strike Force (TSF) is an armed response unit within Goodwill Protection Services (GPS) that is focused solely on the deployment and coordination of Tactical Armed Response units to serve as back-up responders to all sites where GPS is currently contracted.
All response coordination efforts are executed in conjunction with area/sector SAPS forces and Paramedic Response Units to assist and coordinate the required level of response during emergency situations.
All Officers:
- Are issued with the latest in Armed Response Gear that meets GPS’ strict standards.
- Wear SAPS pro body armor when responding to any incident.
- Undergo strict Tactical Response training preparing them for emergencies.
- Have undergone basic Paramedic and Fire Fighting & Basic First Aid training.
- Are afforded the opportunity to take part in Fitness training sessions hosted weekly by TSASA Trainers, this training incorporates the basics of Close Quarter Combat Techniques, Knife fighting (offensive-defensive), and StickBaton fighting techniques and the use of pepper spray during a physical confrontation.
The aim of this training is to ensure that TSF Officers are in the best possible condition to defuse a situation without sustaining major injuries in the line of duty.
All TSF Armed Response Officers Are Trained By TSASA
Meeting all PSIRA/SASSETA standards through our P.F.T.C. affiliated training centre, The South African Security Academy, as well as receiving continuous Firearm training, re-training, conducted by TSASA firearm training officers.
All the TSF Armed Response Officers have passed their firearm competency training as required by law and are only issued with GPS firearms that are legally licensed and issued to the rules of the SAPS.
About The Control Room
TSF uses state of the art systems to effectively coordinate all response vehicles under the TSF/GPS brand.
These systems include:
- Live vehicle tracking systems that give real-time locations of all vehicles as well as the recording of all movements for auditing purposes.
- Two-way communication via Zello, that runs over the cell phone networks making it much more reliable and effective with a standard voice recording function for auditing purposes.
- TSF Technicians also install IDS linked systems that also run on cell phone-based system as opposed to the normal radio signal system, as the Cell Phone linked system is more reliable and stable during bad weather conditions and are more economical for both clients and the company.
- On the hour reporting via the ZELLO two-way communication systems keeps the 24hr manned TSF Control Room Operator and the TSF Armed Response Officer informed and up to date with the latest events taking place, across the TSF/GPS network.
